The function of extruder melt pressure is to reduce unit energy consumption, extend the life of the product, increase extrusion output, and stabilize output pressure.
To reduce unit energy consumption, data shows that combining a co rotating twin screw granulation extruder with a melt pump can significantly improve the mixing quality and output compared to a single twin screw granulation unit. The energy consumption per kilogram of material can generally be reduced by about a quarter. After using a melt pump, the pressure inside the extruder barrel decreases, greatly reducing the wear between the screw and barrel, reducing the load on the gearbox thrust bearing, and extending the lifespan of the extruder.
Introduction to Extruder
Extruder is one of the types of plastic machinery that originated in the 18th century. Based on the direction of the material flow at the head and the angle between the screw centerline, the head can be divided into right angle and oblique angle heads. Screw extruders rely on the pressure and shear force generated by the rotation of the screw to fully plasticize and evenly mix materials, and form them through the die.
